US Dollar Touches 48 Mark against Egyptian Pound

The dollar continued its jumps since midday yesterday, rising by about 140 piasters against the Egyptian pound from its lowest levels recorded since the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) decision to liberalize the exchange rate.

The exchange rate of the US dollar against the Egyptian pound rose to the level of 48 pounds again, and the lowest recorded level was 46.55 pounds last Thursday.

The dollar recorded its highest levels in Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - Egypt, Banque Misr Iran, HSBC, and Ahli United Bank at 48 pounds to sell, and 47.9 to buy.

While the average price in Egyptian banks and ATMs recorded 47.75 pounds.

The price was 47.7 to buy, and 47.8 to sell in the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and the Commercial International Bank (CIB) with an increase of 10 piasters in the buying and selling price,

Also, the price of the dollar jumped to 47.95 pounds in both the Banque Misr, the Alexandria Bank, and the Egyptian Arab Land Bank.
