A US deportation flight carrying 119 undocumented Indian migrants is set to arrive at Amritsar Airport on Saturday, marking the second batch of Indian nationals sent back as part of former President Donald Trump’s ongoing crackdown on illegal immigration.
According to official sources, the flight is expected to land around 10 PM local time. Among those deported, 100 individuals are from Punjab and Haryana, highlighting the high number of Indian migrants from these regions attempting to enter the US illegally.
This follows an earlier deportation of Indian migrants earlier this month, reinforcing the US administration’s tough stance on undocumented immigration.
Trump's large-scale deportation efforts have faced widespread criticism, with human rights groups and migrant advocates condemning the policy for its impact on immigrant communities.
As the US continues its strict enforcement measures, Indian authorities are expected to monitor the situation closely, particularly in states that have seen a surge in emigration attempts.
