US State Department stated that the Iraqi government must provide protection for US forces in Iraq and bring those responsible for recent attacks to justice.
The State Department also acknowledged that Egypt and Qatar are making significant progress in advancing ceasefire negotiations in Gaza and securing the release of detainees.
Additionally, the State Department noted: "The ceasefire negotiations were not attended by Haniyeh alone; he was accompanied by several Hamas leaders who can now relay messages to Sinwar. Sinwar must accept a ceasefire in Gaza for the benefit of the Palestinian people."
