A spokesman for the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley, said on Friday that Milley had arrived in Israel to discuss regional security issues with his Israeli counterparts.
"They will address the many challenges and opportunities facing Israel and the Middle East region," Colonel Dave Butler said in a statement.
The visit comes within the framework of the American efforts to reduce the escalation in the West Bank between the Israeli occupation forces and the Palestinians before the month of Ramadan. During his visit, he will also discuss the preparations that the United States and Israel are making against Iran in the region.
