UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini has warned that dismantling the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) would have catastrophic effects on the international response to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Speaking to Al-Hurra News, Lazzarini stressed that the collapse of UNRWA would have severe consequences for international peace and security, urging the United Nations to take action to support the agency in light of the critical situation in Gaza.
“These laws will not resolve the plight of Palestinian refugees; instead, they will inflict severe harm on their lives and future,” Lazzarini said, calling on UN member states to act in support of UNRWA in response to the urgency of the current crisis.
