On Thursday, Jeremy Hopkins, UNICEF Representative in Egypt, affirmed that his organization is committed to supporting the Egyptian government in adopting family-friendly policies.

Hopkins said, "It's my pleasure to join today’s conversation led by Nevine El-Kabbaj, Minister of Solidarity, Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education, and senior figures of civil society on the critical importance of positive parenting for every child."

"Dialogue with the community is an important part of developing any strategy," he noted.

He also underscored the need to continue the cooperation between UNICEF and Egypt to reach a consensus on the national strategy promoting positive parenting. "It is also important to mobilize national resources to support its implementation and ensure that every child can enjoy his or her fundamental right to a violence-free upbringing."

Earlier on the same day, Hopkins participated in the Supplier Conference, where he discussed with the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement (UPA), the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the Drug Authority how to integrate Egyptian business into UNICEF’s supply chain to reach SDG 2030 with quality procurement of goods and services for every child.
