UN: 516 Dead, 908 Wounded in Ukraine

The United Nations Human Rights Office said, in the latest update distributed today, Wednesday, in Geneva, that the number of civilian casualties since the start of the Russian military attack on Ukraine on February 24, reached about 1,424 victims, including 516 deaths and 908 injuries.

Noteworthy, Deputy Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office said that President Volodymyr Zelensky is ready for direct talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Ukrainian delegation is preparing for new rounds of negotiations with Russia for peace. According to “Sputnik”.

Zelensky added, in press statements: “Members of our delegation returned at night from the negotiations that took place in Belarus, and I will listen to their report. We will prepare for future rounds of negotiations, for the sake of Ukraine and for peace.”

 

So far, three rounds of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations have taken place in Belarus, during which the two countries’ delegations discussed the political, humanitarian and military aspects of settling the situation in Ukraine.
