Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had an important substantive conversation with the President of the European Union (EU).
He affirmed the European Commission's opinion on Ukraine's application for EU membership will be prepared in few months, and now we move on to our strategic goal together." Zelensky wrote on Twitter on Friday.
For her part, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, said that she had informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, to disburse the second tranche of the total financial assistance to Ukraine, amounting to 300 million euros.
"The brave people of Ukraine need this money now, we will support the country's finances, as this absurd war is still raging," she added in a tweet on Twitter today, Friday.
She continued, "I assured President Zelensky of the European Union's uncompromising support for Ukraine.
