Ukrainian Embassy in Cairo Stresses Importance of Egypt's Role in Resolving Country's Crisis

The Ukrainian Embassy in Cairo stressed the importance of the role played by Egypt in resolving the Ukrainian crisis, within the framework of the Arab League group and the African Initiative.

The embassy stated - in a statement on the occasion of the celebration of the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine's independence - that the value of trade between the two countries amounted to $2.446 billion in 2021, noting Ukraine's contribution to enhancing Egyptian food security through supplies of wheat, corn and other grains

It also explained that 15 trams were recently delivered to the Passenger Transport Department in Alexandria.

"Cooperation between the two countries over the past three decades has developed - significantly - as the Egyptian satellite (EgyptSat 1) was launched into Earth's orbit in 2007, from the Baikonur Space Base using the Ukrainian Dnipro rocket," the statement added.

Moreover, Ukrainian oil and gas company continues to implement its largest investment project abroad in Egypt in the Al-Alam Al-Shawish field in the Western Desert.
