UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy has announced a £55 million ($68.5 million) support package for Ukraine during his visit to Kyiv, as uncertainty looms over the future of the war.
According to British news agency PA Media, £17 million of the package will be allocated to sustainable energy projects in Ukraine to help the country recover from extensive damage caused by Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure.
An additional £3 million will be directed toward ensuring the delivery of Ukrainian grain and other food products to Syria, reinforcing the UK's commitment to global food security.
Lammy emphasized that the UK remains steadfast in its support for Ukraine.
He highlighted the importance of strengthening ties between the two nations, not only in the immediate fight against Russia but also through a long-term partnership that has developed over the past century.
The UK government aims to position Ukraine as strongly as possible in both its ongoing struggle and its future rebuilding efforts.
