UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has reaffirmed his country’s commitment to advancing relations with Egypt to broader horizons, as he met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
According to Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the two leaders held talks during which they reviewed the depth of bilateral ties and ways to further enhance cooperation across a wide range of sectors. As part of the visit, President el-Sisi and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed toured the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, where the Egyptian president was briefed on the university’s facilities, academic departments, specialised programmes and cutting-edge innovations in advanced technology and artificial intelligence. The visit highlighted the role of the university in supporting the UAE’s national ambitions in AI and future technologies.
The two leaders later held a bilateral meeting over a working lunch. President el-Sisi expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality, praising the unprecedented level of coordination, consultation and cooperation achieved between the two countries in recent years, particularly in trade and investment.
El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s openness to attracting additional Emirati investments, stressing that relations between Cairo and Abu Dhabi constitute a cornerstone of Arab national security and a key pillar of regional stability.
For his part, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed welcomed President el-Sisi to what he described as his second home, the United Arab Emirates. He underscored the special nature of Egypt–UAE relations and reiterated the UAE’s keen interest in pushing bilateral cooperation with Egypt to wider horizons, especially in the fields of trade and investment.
