Turkey’s Ambassador to Egypt Salih Mutlu Şen announced plans to increase postgraduate scholarships for Egyptian students, aiming to boost opportunities in master’s, research, and Ph.D. programs.
Turkey hopes to offer 500 scholarships as part of its efforts to strengthen educational and cultural ties with Egypt.
The ambassador’s remarks came during a ceremony in Cairo on October 17, where certificates were presented to Egyptian academics who completed the "Capacity Development Program for Turkish Language Departments in Egyptian Universities."
The Yunus Emre Institute organized this program in collaboration with Ankara Yildirim Beyazid University and Turkey's Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities.
Ambassador Şen emphasized the significance of Egypt's growing interest in teaching the Turkish language, underscoring its historical and cultural importance.
He expressed Turkey’s commitment to further developing Turkish language programs in Egyptian universities and expanding cooperation in education, culture, and research.
In addition to scholarships, Şen advocated for short-term training programs in Turkey for Turkish language professors from Egypt.
Turkey is committed to sending more academic experts to Egypt and increasing opportunities for Egyptian students to study in Turkish universities through various scholarship programs.
