During a special event held in Cairo to celebrate Turkey's National Sovereignty and Children's Day, Turkish Ambassador to Egypt, Saleh Mutlu Şen, underscored the deepening relations between Egypt and Turkey and expressed solidarity with Palestinian children. The celebration, which took place on April 23rd at the Turkish ambassador’s residence, was attended by children from Turkey, Egypt, and Palestine, along with several Egyptian journalists.

Ambassador Şen commemorated the 104th anniversary of the establishment of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, a day that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk dedicated to children in 1924, marking it as the world's first children's day. He emphasized that this day serves as a symbol of national will and sovereignty, highlighting the role of children in shaping the future paths of development, peace, and prosperity.

"The gathering of children from Turkey, Egypt, and Palestine symbolizes their collective hopes for a future filled with peace and prosperity," Şen stated. He also touched upon the recent successful visit of Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry to Turkey and noted that a visit by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to Turkey is expected soon. This visit will coincide with the first session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between the two nations, set to be held in Turkey.

Addressing the ongoing conflict in Gaza, Ambassador Şen expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and emphasized the solidarity shown by Turkish children towards Palestinian children during the celebration. He mentioned that this act of inclusion sends a strong message of community support and empathy amidst ongoing regional turmoil.

These activities and upcoming diplomatic engagements highlight a warming of relations between Egypt and Turkey, focusing on mutual respect, strategic cooperation, and shared concerns for regional stability and the welfare of children.
