Tunisia President Kais Saied stressed that his country would never accept a geographical pision in neighbouring Libya, calling upon warring parties to stop the battles immediately and end the foreign intervention.
Speaking along with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, in Paris, Saied said that the legitimacy of the the government of national accord (GNA), Al-Wefaq, headed by Fayez Al-Sarraj, is temporarily and there should be a move forward to another more secured position.
"I've met with representatives from the Libyan tribes and they suggested to prepare a new constitution in Libya," he added.
The Tunisian President went on to explain how the foreign intervention in Libya is harming his country, but also might harm European countries including France.
Saied underscored the importance of an only home-made solution in Libya, without any foreign intervention, in a reference to the Turkish role already played in favor of Al-Sarraj.
Analysts are considering the Turkish military presence in Libya, which is backing militias affiliated to Al-Sarraj and fighting the Libyan National Army (LNA) - can be labelled as 'Turkish occupation'.
Saied affirmed that Tunisia will never accept the pision of Libya because it represents a danger to the whole region, pointing out that he coordinates on a daily basis with the Algeria to find the necessary solutions.
The Tunisian president's two-day visit to France, upon invitation from the French President, is his first to Europe in general since he assumed the presidency in October 2019.
