Tunisia and Angola will face off tonight in a super clash. After 11 years of stalemating against each other, both teams are looking to break the deadlock.

The two teams will meet up at the Suez Stadium, in the opening match of group E, in one of the biggest matches in the ongoing African Cup of Nations.

This match will have an Egyptian taste as players from both El-Ahly and El-Zamalek will compete against each other. El-Ahly's Geraldo will face off Zamalek's Fejanni Sassi who just returned from injury.

Both teams look forward to winning their first three points in the tournament. Apart from the 2008 match which ended in a draw, the other five matches between the two teams were friendlies, most recently in August 2008 and ending in a 1-1 draw.

The Tunisian team aims to compensate for their lack of accomplishments over the past years. Since the Carthage Eagles won the African Nations Cup title in 2004, their presence has dropped dramatically on the African stage, where they have been eliminated from the quarterfinals in 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015 and 2017 versions of the tournament and the first round of the tournament in 2013.

But the team regained some of their balance by reaching the 2018 World Cup in Russia, in which they won a single match, but lost the remaining two.
