U.S. President Donald Trump called, on Tuesday, on Attorney General William Barr to initiate an investigation into Hunter Biden, the son of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, and asked him to publish information before November 3.
Asked Tuesday on Fox News whether he supported tapping a special prosecutor to probe the Bidens’ dealings in Ukraine and China, Mr. Trump said, “We’ve got to get the attorney general to act. He’s got to act, and he’s got to act fast. He’s got to appoint somebody. This is major corruption and this has to be known about before the election.”
Trump's comments came after a group of Republicans in the House of Representatives asked William Barr to appoint an “independent, unbiased special counsel” to investigate the information published by the New York Post articles about Hunter Biden, last week.
According to a New York Post report, Hunter Biden helped in holding a meeting between an executive officer at the Ukrainian gas company, Burisma, and his father, when Joe Biden was the Vice President.
