Tottenham Hotspur officially confirmed the signing of Dutch international midfielder Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, following the completion of international clearance and work permit formalities.
The 22-year-old has signed a long-term contract with the North London club and will wear the No.7 shirt this season, according to the club’s statement on its official website.
Speaking after his unveiling, Simons expressed his excitement: "I’m very happy and can’t wait to get started. I’ve been dreaming of this for a long time. It’s a fantastic club and when I met the coach, I immediately felt this was the right place for me. I want to bring flair to the team, alongside hard work and discipline. I’ll do everything I can to win — for the team and for the fans."
Head coach Thomas Frank also welcomed the new addition, praising Simons’ quality and versatility: "I’m delighted to have Xavi join us. He’s a fantastic addition to the squad. Despite his young age, he already has strong experience at the highest level. He has proven he can score and create goals, whether playing as a No.10 or on the left wing. His vision and link-up play are excellent, and I’m confident he will be an integral part of a hard-working, united team."
