Protest demonstrations against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plan to weaken the judiciary and overthrow its independence have reached their climax.

The leaders of the demonstrators are preparing for the success of the general strike across Israel, its commercial and industrial facilities, universities, and schools, today, Monday, to reach about a million people.

The organizers emphasized that the strike would be voluntary at the expense of workers and employees, and thousands of commercial companies, including 200 high-tech companies, and hundreds of municipalities, including the Tel Aviv municipality, universities, and most schools, announced that they would allow workers to be absent from work and participate voluntarily in the strike.

Other companies also announced that they would allow workers to be absent from work to participate in the strike without a salary deduction.

The government tried to sabotage the strike plan by banning the absence of government employees so that they would not participate in a protest of a political nature against the state.
