Time Magazine has nominated Liverpool Star Mohamed Salah for "Time's Person of the Year for 2019" Award on Sunday.

The winner will be decided through a vote on the Magazine's official website and will be announced on December 11. Time hailed the iconic Egyptian star, describing him as "a better human being than he is a football player."

"Mo Salah is a better human being than he is a football player. And he’s one of the best football players in the world," Time said.

"As a footballer, he plays with an infectious joy. I’ve always wondered what it would feel like to be able to play as well as him and watching his face light up after he does something incredible, you get the reassuring sense that it’s exactly as fun as you’d want it to be," writer John Oliver described Salah in his article.

The 2019 Time's 100- person List included some prominent figures; states' presidents, celebrities and international football stars.

The 27-year old player had guided his team to clinch the Uefa Champions League title and finish the Premier League in the second position.

On October 8, the Egyptian international scooped the GQ Middle East Men of the Year Awards in a ceremony organized in the UAE.

On Saturday, The Senegalese star Sadio Mane expressed his happiness over playing alongside Salah and Firmino. “I always say it is very easy to work together. Personally, I just think myself very lucky to play alongside these great players,” the Senegal international said according to Liverpool's official website.

On Sunday, November 10 , the Reds punished the Citizens 3-1 at Anfield, as this result means that the European champions remain unbeaten in the league this season with 11 wins and one draw, while City dropped to fourth in the table.

Noteworthy, Salah missed the Pharaohs encounter against Kenya at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nation (AFCON) qualifiers, as well as he would ruled out of Comoros's clash due to his ankle injury.
