Lebanese Health Minister Firas Abiad said that the number of people injured by pager explosions has reached 2,750, in addition to nine dead, including an eight-year-old girl, explaining that these statistics are not final yet.

The Lebanese minister explained during a press conference that most of the cases are "serious", indicating that they ranged from injuries to the face, hand, abdomen, and eyes, adding that more than 100 hospitals in Lebanon are on alert and receiving cases.

The Lebanese Hezbollah announced the explosion of "a number of message receiving devices known as pagers, which are owned by a number of workers in various Hezbollah units and institutions."

The party explained in a statement that "the explosions, the causes of which are still unknown" led to the death of "a girl and two brothers, and a large number of people were injured with various injuries."

He stressed that the competent authorities in Hezbollah are currently conducting a wide-ranging "security and scientific" investigation to determine the reasons that led to these simultaneous explosions, while medical and health services are treating the wounded and injured in a number of hospitals in various Lebanese regions, according to the statement. The party added in a separate statement that "after examining all the current facts, data and available information, we hold the Israeli enemy fully responsible for this criminal aggression that targeted civilians," pledging "just retribution" for the "sinful aggression," according to the statement.
