Tonight, the highly-anticipated European tournament, Euro 2024, will kick off in Germany. 

Various teams are looking forward to capturing the title for the first time, while others hope to enrich their history with one more title win. Although everything looks great, this tournament could be the last international dance for several football stars who left an unforgettable mark with their fans.

Luka Modric (Croatia)

The Croatian national team leader is one of the biggest names who is likely to retire from the international playing after this tournament. After the tournament, Modric will walk as Croatia's most capped player, after his 175 appearances across all competitions, and their best player since the last decade. 

He played a key part in leading Croatia to the final of 2018, FIFA World Cup 2022 semi-final. 

Toni Kroos (Germany)

Real Madrid icon and Germany international Toni Kroos announced before the final of the UEFA Champions League 2023/2024 that he will hang his boots after the Euro 2024. 

He participated with his country's team to capture FIFA World Cup title in 2014. In addition. 

He concluded his club competition career with Real Madrid by winning the UEFA Champions League title.  

Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)

Cristiano Ronaldo is the biggest name on this list due to his popularity, outstanding performance, record-breaking achievements, and winning Ballon D'or for 5 times. 

The 39-years-old will walk into the European Championship for a record sixth time, and will yet again be one of Portugal's main attacking focuses. 

Robert Lewandowski (Poland)

Robert Lewandowski will surely be one of the big names expected to play his last European Championship. 

Kevin De Bruyne (Belgium)

Kevin De Bruyne is one of the key figures from the Golden Era of Belgium. And, he expected to have his final dance with his national football team in the Euro 2024.
