Ambassador Khaled Arif, Egypt's ambassador to Senegal, stressed the strength and depth of relations between the two countries, which extend for more than sixty years... reviewing the positive developments witnessed in the recent period at the economic, political and cultural levels.
This came in the speech delivered by the ambassador during the reception organized by the embassy on the occasion of the seventy-second anniversary of the July 23, 1952 Revolution.
Ambassador Aref indicated that relations are gaining more momentum, especially in light of the intention of major Egyptian companies to enter the Senegalese market in the fields of housing, renewable energy, and food manufacturing, noting the imminent signing of a number of bilateral cooperation agreements in the fields of fish farming, agriculture, training of young diplomats, and information technology.
He added that the embassy is working to strengthen trade and investment relations by opening non-traditional markets for Egyptian products such as wheat seeds and rice.
In his speech, the ambassador also touched on the regional and international situation and Egypt’s firm commitment to supporting peace and security in the Middle East and Africa region, highlighting the efforts of Egyptian diplomacy to stop the war in the Gaza Strip and find a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution.
