Belarusian Ambassador Meets Egyptian Youth & Sports Min.

The Belarusian Ambassador to Egypt Sergei Terentiev had a meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhy .

The meeting was attended by Sherif Gad, the head of the Association and the Arab Union for Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities and a number of officials from the ministry.

On his side, Sobhy asserted the depth of Egypt-Belarus ties, adding that the cooperation between both countries is about to be increased in fields of youth and sports during the upcoming period.

Next, the minister hailed the progress achieved in the cooperation between Egypt, and Belarus recently that was supported by the exchanged visits by both countries' leaders, and the latest signed agreements and memorandums between both.

On his side, Terentiev praised the achievements of the Egyptian political leadership in the past few years.

He also highlighted that the friendship relationship between the two countries is the basis of improving mutual relations, affirming his country's appreciation to Egypt as it is of Belarus' key strategic partners in the Middle East and Africa.

In the same context, Gad expressed that the Association and the Arab Union for Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities targets bridging between Egypt, and former Soviet countries such as Belarus.

He added that strengthening the cooperation with Belarussia will support Egypt in its plans of qualifying Egyptian athletes to be Olympic champions by organizing camps for Egyptian teams in Belarus due to its potentials in the field of sports in Europe.

In addition, the Belarusian president previously asserted that his country's facilities are available for Egypt anytime.

After that, Gad thanked the ambassador for his efforts and keenness in celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between both countries.

It is worthy to mention that the talks between the ambassador and the minister referred to the latest signed memorandum which will come into force in the upcoming period.

In addition, there will be another memorandum to be signed and it is dedicated to youth and the organization of a Belarusian-Egyptian youth forum, alongside organizing several sports events.

Finally, Sobhy honored and greeted the ambassador.
