Inter Miami Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson said that "terms are agreed” between the MLS side and the iconic Lionel Messi, CNN reported on Thursday.

The move of Messi to the MLS side was confirmed but wasn't 100% completed.

Henderson added in a press conference with the new Manager Tata Martino: “With regard to Leo, terms are agreed, but we are working on the paperwork with Major League Soccer."

“Those are going to take time to finish, but we hope that there’s a time in mid-, late-July that he’s ready to go. That’s just going to be up to how he finishes all the paperwork.”

Messi and Martino worked together back in the 2013/201 season in Barcelona and in 2015 with the Argentina national team.

Lionel Messi is expected to make his Inter Miami debut on July 21 in the team's game against the Mexican Cruz Azul, reports claimed on Monday.

The owner of the Mexican club told reporters that this game is one of the top highly anticipated MLS matches ever.

Messi signed with Inter Miami for two seasons and half for up to $150 million, the contract includes revenue-sharing agreements with Apple, Adidas, and sports retail company Fanatics.

Messi’s move from the MSL was confirmed by the FIFA World Cup winners' captain this month.

The impact of Messi’s arrival was immediately felt. The tickets for Inter Miami matches were quickly sold out.

The cheapest ticket for Miami’s September match against MLS champions Los Angeles FC jumped from $81 to $599.
