On Friday, the former coach of Manchester United Erik ten Hag broke the silence and sent a message to Manchester United fans after he was sacked early this week.
His final fixture on the lead of the Red Devils was their 2-1 defeat to West Ham in the 2024/2025 English Premier League.
Tan Hag said: "Whether it was a game far away or a tough match at Old Trafford, your support has been unshakeable. The atmosphere at Old Trafford has always been electrifying, thanks to you."
He added: "I always enjoyed meeting Manchester United fans throughout the world. Walking the streets and being able to chat with fans in England, Europe, Asia, Australia, the USA – you inspired me and radiated a strong sense of unity. That’s what makes United supporters so special.
"I want to thank you for giving me this feeling and for your support. I also want to thank the staff in every department of the club for their unwavering support in good times and bad."
Tan Hag was in charge of 128 games between May 2022 and October 2024. He had 70 wins, 35 loses, and 23 draws.
