Reda Abdel-Qader, Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority announced that the deadline for electronically submitting the Value Added Tax (VAT) return for the month of February will be extended until May 10, provided that the due amount of the declaration is paid before the deadline, April 30.
Abdel-Qader said in a statement on Wednesday that the move comes to facilitate procedures and remove all obstacles facing taxpayers in light of the precautionary measures taken by the state to confront the coronavirus (COVID-19).
A value-added tax (VAT) is a consumption tax placed on a product whenever value is added at each stage of the supply chain, from production to the point of sale.
