Pope Tawadros II Leads Mass on 10th Anniv. of Pope Shenouda III Departure

The Coptic Orthodox Church celebrates on Thursday the 10th anniversary of the death of his holiness Pope Shenouda III of Alexandria, and the 117th Patriarch of the See of St. Mark.

Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria, of the See of St. Mark, leads the Divine Liturgy at the great St. Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in El-Abaseya, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the death of Pope Shenouda III.

In its new issue for March, Al-Kiraza magazine dedicated space to the late Pope Shenouda III, which wrote about a brief about him, and what public figures and the church said about him after his death.

The 10th of the death of the Blessed Trinity of Pope Shenouda III falls on March 17, 2022. According to the magazine "He left our perished world,” a phrase he used to say at the death of a living person, .

We remember his efforts, services, teaching, and writings in various fields. His books and sermons are still references in many different ecclesiastical sciences. We remember his efforts in establishing scientific institutions and churches in and outside Egypt. We remember his expanding relations and his great ability in dialogue practice, whatever the field was and whatever the culture of the interlocutor. He was widely aware of what was going on around him, which earned him the appreciation and respect of everyone, even his opponents.
