Informed sources in Damascus reported on Saturday evening the death of "Muhammad Dib Da'bul", one of the most prestigious figures in the office of the Syrian presidency.
Da'bul died, according to sources, in a Damascus hospital at the age of 85.
In turn, sources close to his family told the Deutsche Presse-Agentur that Da'bul died of a terminal illness, adding that his body will be buried tomorrow in the city of Deir Atiyah, 90 kilometers north of the Syrian capital.

Da'bul, known in Syria as Abu Salim, was born in 1935 in the city of Deir Atiyah in the Qalamoun Mountains. He held the position of Director of the Special Office in the Syrian Presidency for nearly half a century, where he accompanied the late President Hafez al-Assad, since the beginning of his access to power in the country in 1971, and after his death In 2000, he held the same position in the apparatus of President Bashar al-Assad.
In the current year 2021, Al-Assad awarded him the Order of Merit of the Excellent Class.
