Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade issued an important decision Tuesday, regarding the controls for trading strategic food commodities.
The decision stipulated that 7 commodities, namely, blended oil, rice, sugar, beans, milk, pasta, and white cheese are prohibited from banning and concealing from sale.
It included that producing, importing, supplying, and packaging companies should issue tax sales invoices that include data on these products and commodities, including the type of product, quantity, and factory selling price.
The decision also included that these companies should notify their affiliated supply directorates on the first Sunday of each month of the quantities of commodities in their possession, description of the products, production date, quantities in warehouses and storage locations, quantities sold, and those dealing with the company, including dealers and distributors.
