Suez Canal Revenues Rise to EGP 7.8 billion in January

Government data showed an increase in the revenues of the Suez Canal Authority last January, as revenues recorded about EGP 8.5 billion pounds, compared to EGP 7.8 billion in January of 2021, an increase of about 700 million pounds.

Data issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics indicate the development of Suez Canal Authority revenues from January 2021 to January 2022, reached  EGP7.4 billion in February 2021 and  EGP 6.9 billion in March 2021, and began to rise to record EGP 8.7 billion in April. Last May, it recorded EGP 8.3 billion, and last January EGP 8.5 billion.

Lieutenant-General Osama Rabie, head of the Suez Canal Authority, confirmed a few days ago that the Canal achieved last year record numbers that had not occurred before, as the number of ships that crossed from the canal amounted to 20,646 ships, that brought revenues of $ 6.3 billion.

He noted that there is a significant increase in the rates of ships crossing compared to in past years.
