Story of Arihi Reihana, Serving in ''MFO''

Sergeant Arihi Reihana is just one of the New Zealand Defence Force ''NZDF'' personnel serving in the Multinational Force and Observers ''MFO'' supervising peacekeeping responsibilities. Her main duty is to train soldiers who are deployed into Egypt, not only from Aotearoa, but around the world.

Reihana reported that one of her main highlights while being in the army is to travel around the world. She has been travelling several countries such as Alaska, Hawaii, East Timor and Afghanistan.

She was sent to Egypt as an envoy in August last year to patrol coastal regions in the Sinai Peninsula.  She is following her father footsteps, who served in the 1st Battalion of the Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment.

Her father who inspired her to join the army, served in Malaysia between 1957 and 1966 during the Indonesian confrontation as part of the British Commonwealth forces.
