The Media Observatory of the Ministry of Finance confirmed that there are fake pages on social media managed by enemies of the homeland from abroad, claiming that they are attributed to Egyptian government agencies in miserable attempts to promote their lies and give them credibility, within the framework of the hostile campaign against Egypt that aims to sow frustration among the Egyptians.

The Media Observatory stated that these fake accounts on social media attribute false statements to some Egyptian government officials that they did not speak of, including what was published on a fake page of the Egyptian Tax Authority, from statements made by the Minister of Finance about the Egyptian pound.

The observatory confirmed that the ministry is concerned with financial policies, while the Central Bank of Egypt is concerned with monetary policies, explaining that there is a complete coordination between the ministry and the Central Bank, as is the case in the Monetary and Financial Policies Committee, which closely follows all global and local economic developments; with the aim of dealing with them in a way that serves the interests of the Egyptian economy, and mitigate the repercussions of the current global crisis on the Egyptian economy.

The Media Observatory called on the media to investigate accuracy and obtain information from their competent sources, before publishing any news related to the Ministry of Finance to prevent any confusion among the public.
