Somali Prime Minister (PM) Hamza Abdi Barre held strategic discussions with US Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Ambassador Mike Hammer to strengthen relations and partnerships in areas of mutual interest.
During their meeting, Barre and Hammer discussed regional affairs, development cooperation, comprehensive humanitarian and security cooperation between the United States and Somalia, and explored ways to enhance collaboration and support between the two countries, according to the Somali News Agency.
Moreover, Somali PM expressed his sincere appreciation to US government for its unwavering support in preserving the independence, territorial integrity, and unity of the Federal Republic of Somalia as a nation and a people.
