On Sunday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) published on its website that it has information confirming Turkey’s intention to send a new batch of mercenaries to Libya during the coming days.
The observatory added that since mid-November, Turkey has stopped returning those who were previously sent, despite the ongoing negotiations for a political solution after the Libyan-Libyan agreement on the ceasefire.
SOHR explained that the number of mercenaries that Turkey sent to Libya has reached about 18,000 so far. 350 of those mercenaries are fighters under the age of eighteen.
The report said that 10,750 returned to Syria after the end of their contracts and obtaining their financial dues, while militant mercenaries of different nationalities were sent to Libya; their number reached about 10 thousand. Among those who were sent to support the Government of National Accord, there, are holders of Tunisian nationality.
