Sisi Stresses Significance of National Digitization Projects

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met today, Wednesday, with Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat to review various national projects nationwide, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

The meeting took place in the presence of the Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning, Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, the Chairman of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, Major General Ihab Al-Far, and the Director of Mega Projects Department at the Engineering Authority, Major General Ihab Abdullah.

"The meeting discussed the status of a number of national projects in the fields of digitization and information technology," Rady said.

Sisi stressed that the latest technologies should be used in the establishment of various projects in the fields of communications and digitization, taking into account the established principle of governance in accordance with the highest standards of quality and sustainability.

These projects would help promote the country’s digital transformation efforts in a manner that befits Egypt’s civilized development witnessed and comprehensive development vision.

In this regard, the President called for providing the technical training programs needed to raise the efficiency of the cadres and enable promising generations to be capable of implementing digital projects nationwide.

Furthermore, the latest developments regarding the Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital were discussed. It is being established in accordance with the latest technological systems with the aim of building an information society through which research and innovation in advanced technologies are supported and the investments of global technology companies are attracted.

The progress of work in a number of national technological projects nationwide was also discussed.

These projects aim to spread a culture of creativity and discover and support innovative students, researchers, and entrepreneurs. The efforts aim to turn them into active inpiduals that contribute to achieving digital transformation in various sectors of the state.

Among the projects that have been discussed in particular are the branches of the Information Technology Institute in the universities of Mansoura, Menoufia, Minya, Qena, Sohag, and Aswan, the technological innovation complex to be established in Ismailia, as well as "Digital Egypt Creativity" centers to be established in Benha, Fayoum, and Port Said.
