President Abdel Fattah El Sisi underlined on Thursday the importance of further strengthening the distinguished bilateral relations with the Republic of Korea in all fields, particularly economic, investment, cultural, and educational sectors.

The president lauded the Korean development experiment, stressing that Egypt looks forward to increasing the scope of Korean companies' business and investments in many top priority sectors, especially communications and information technology, automotive manufacturing, shipbuilding, Artificial Intelligence, petrochemicals, and mining, with a focus on localizing these industries in Egypt.

The president highlighted the guarantees, investment incentives, and competitive advantages offered by the Egyptian government to the Egyptian market.

President Sisi and his wife Entissar El Sisi have earlier received President Lee Jae Myung, and his spouse, said Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el-Shennawy.

Shennawy said the official reception ceremony included reviewing the guard of honor, playing national anthems, and taking a commemorative photograph of the two presidents and their spouses.

This was followed by a closed session of talks between the two leaders that was later expanded to include delegations from both countries.

President Sisi welcomed his guest on his first visit to Egypt since assuming office in June 2025.

The visit coincides with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

President Lee thanked President Sisi for the warm welcome and affirmed his country's keenness to develop cooperation with Egypt across all fields, whether at the level of governmental development relations or through the activities of Korean companies in the Egyptian market.

He also praised the achievements Egypt has made over the past decade, the most recent of which was the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Talks addressed regional issues of mutual interest.

President Sisi reviewed Egypt's efforts to implement the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the relevant UN Security Council resolution, emphasizing that the two-state solution is the only way to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.

President Lee commended Egypt's pivotal role in achieving peace and supporting stability in the Middle East, particularly the President's efforts that led to stopping the war in the Gaza Strip and the hosting of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, affirming his country's support for the two-state solution and Egypt's related efforts.

He also reviewed his country's position on developments in the Korean Peninsula and East Asia.

President Sisi praised South Korea's efforts to maintain balanced and cooperative relations with various regional and international parties.

The two presidents exchanged views on the situation in several countries in the region and stressed the need to preserve the unity and sovereignty of states, reach comprehensive political settlements to their crises, and safeguard the capabilities of their people.

Two memos of understanding were signed in the fields of culture and education between the two countries on the sidelines of the visit.
