President Abdel Fattah El Sisi ratified on Thursday laws of regulating the Exercise of Political Rights, the House of Representatives and Senate elections and the National Election Authority.
"The President of the Republic has ratified Law No. 140 of 2020 amending some provisions of the Law on the Exercise of Political Rights No. 45 of 2014, Law of the House of Representatives No. 46 of 2014 and Law of the National Elections Authority No. 198 of 2017," an official statement read.

He also ratified Law No. 141 of 2020 promulgating the Senate Law.
The two laws have been published in the Official Gazette in Issue no. 26, on 1st of July, 2020.

Egypt is scheduled to witness parliamentary elections in November. However, political experts expected that the Senate election may take place in August.
In April, 2020, President Sisi cast his ballot in the referendum on the constitutional amendments in Martyr Mostafa Youssri school in Cairo's Heliopolis district.
