President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received on Monday, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, on the sidelines of the 12th session of the United Nations World Urban Forum, held in Cairo.
According to the spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, both leaders reaffirmed the depth and strength of the historical relations between Egypt and Yemen. President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt's ongoing support for the unity and stability of Yemen and endorsed international efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis.
He highlighted the importance of Yemen’s security and stability to Egypt, as well as its significant role in the security of the Arab region and the Red Sea, particularly in light of the region's tense security situation.
In this context, the two leaders discussed developments in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, and ongoing efforts to restore stability to the area. President El-Sisi shared Egypt’s vision on these matters and outlined its efforts to reach ceasefire agreements in Gaza and Lebanon, aiming to de-escalate the regional tension.
For his part, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt's sincere and continued support for Yemen, emphasizing the strong fraternal ties between the two countries and his eagerness to maintain ongoing consultation and coordination with President El-Sisi.
