Sisi Inspects Construction Works of New Alamein City

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inspected from the air the operational and construction position of the new city of Al Alamein, in northwest Egypt.

The New City of Alamein was inaugurated by the Egyptian president, Sisi, on 1 March 2018.

The New Alamein city is one of four new cities under construction by the government. The three others include the New Administrative Capital, East Port Said, and the new Al-Mansoura city.

Earlier, President Sisi confirmed that the Egyptians would not be invaders. 

Sisi Stresses Libya's Security is Egypt's Only Interest 

Sisi inspected, early Saturday, the forces in the western military zone, in the presence of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and the branch commanders, according to the presidential spokesperson Bassam Rady.

While inspecting the air force’s fighting units in the western military zone, President Sisi said: “The Egyptian army is one of the strongest armies in the region, but it is a wise army … that protects and does not threaten … it can defend Egypt’s national security”.

The President stressed Egypt’s full readiness to provide support to the Libyan people, adding that “We in Egypt have great respect and appreciation and have not interfered in Libya’s affairs and always ready to provide support, for the sake of Libya’s stability.”

He affirmed that Egypt “Has no interests” in Libya, but security and stability, adding that “Cities of Sirte and Al-Jafra are red lines.”

“Only the people of Libya will defend their country and Egypt is ready to help and support them.”

Addressing the Libyan tribal leaders, President Sisi said that “We have neither invaded other countries, nor assaulted states’ sovereignty.”

“We respect Libya, so we have not interfered in your affairs… However, the situation is now different as the Arab, Egyptian and Libyan national security are unstable.”

It’s noteworthy that the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States has received a request from Egypt to hold an emergency meeting to discuss developments of the situation in Libya.
