President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held Wednesday talks with Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
“President Sisi met today, Wednesday, with Greek President Katrina Sakellaropoulou, within the framework of his official visit to Greece,” Rady said.
An official reception ceremony was held, the honor guard was displayed, and the national anthems were played.
The Egyptian Spokesman stated that Sisi held extensive discussions with the Greek President, in the presence of the delegations of the two countries.
Sisi expressed Egypt's aspiration to deepen and strengthen bilateral relations, especially at the economic and commercial levels, by maximizing the volume of Greek investments in Egypt.
“President Sisi invited his Greek counterpart to visit Egypt,” Rady added.
Moreover, Sakellaropoulou expressed Greece’s sincere appreciation for Egypt's stances in support of Athens’s issues at various levels.
Rady noted that the meeting dealt with a number of regional issues of common concern, especially combating illegal immigration and terrorism, achieving interfaith coexistence and supporting peaceful solutions to the existing crises in the region.
“Views were also exchanged regarding combating terrorism and extremist ideology, as Sisi reviewed Egypt's efforts in this regard over the past years,” he manifested.
The two leaders agreed to intensify the exchange of experiences and information between the two countries to face the challenges posed by this cross-border phenomenon.
