President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Sunday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and health minister and discussed the current situation of the Covid-19 pandemic spread, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
Rady said that the meeting witnessed the follow-up of the current situation of the spread of the coronavirus locally and globally since the start of the pandemic until now, as well as reviewing the current measures taken by the government to contain the spread of the virus, taking into account the experience gained by health agencies in dealing with the first and second waves.
Sisi called for the continuation of the awareness programs for all categories of citizens regarding the precautionary measures taken to prevent infection with the virus, in order to maintain the balanced path that the state has taken over the course of the coronavirus pandemic.
Other officials attended the meeting such as: Minister of Higher Education and Scientif Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Health Minister Hala Zayed, Advisor to the President for Health and Prevention Affairs Mohamed Awad Tag Eddin, and President The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement Major General Doctor Bahaa El-Din Zidan, and Director of the Medical Services Department of the Armed Forces Major General Doctor Magdy Mubarak.
Moreover, Sisi also asked to provide any additional funds that may be required for importing vaccines, while establishing partnerships with various foreign bodies to cooperate in producing the vaccines locally, in an effort to achieve self-sufficiency in this context.
