President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and First Lady Entissar Amer congratulated Egyptians Tuesday on the National Police Day and January 25th Revolution.

"The 25th of January will remain immortal in the memory of Egyptians, reminding us of the heroism of the policemen, who, at the battle of Ismailia in 1952, set a good example of sacrifice and redemption for the sake of the homeland, whatever the difficulties," Sisi tweeted.

He added that the police heroes have been taking inspiration from this brave spirit over the past years.

"They gave their lives to rid the country of the scourge of terrorism. With their blood, they opened the way to development and a decent life for the people, in accordance with the demands of the Egyptians in the January 25th revolution," Sisi stressed.

He noted: "As I congratulate all Egyptians on the occasion of Police Day and the January 25th Revolution, I call on everyone to mobilize efforts for a better future that Egypt deserves."

On her part, the First Lady wrote on her official Facebook account: "Today we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Egyptian Police Day that commemorates the heroism of the policemen, who always affirm that defending the homeland is a firm belief in their souls, no matter how long it takes."

"As we celebrate this immortal day in the national memory, I salute all the mothers of the heroic martyrs who willingly offered their heroic sons for Egypt and its people," she added.

She stressed: "Without their sacrifices, we would not have reached safety and started on the path of construction, development, and our new republic."
