President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received, Monday, Fuad Hussein, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, and discussed ways to boost Iraqi stability and security.
The meeting was attended by Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed Nayef Al-Dulaimi, the Iraqi ambassador in Cairo.
Hussein handed over the Egyptian president a letter from Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.
“The Iraqi Foreign Minister conveyed to President Sisi a message from his brother, Mr. Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, the Iraqi Prime Minister,” Rady said.
Kadhimi’s letter included praising the historical fraternal ties between the two brotherly countries, and affirming Iraq's appreciation for the Egyptian efforts in support of the Iraqi issue at all levels and looking forward to strengthening frameworks for cooperation with Egypt.
The spokesperson manifested that the meeting also witnessed an exchange of views on a number of Arab and regional issues of common interest.
“The two leaders agreed on the need to intensify coordination to face the challenges facing the region, in a way that fulfills the aspirations of its peoples to achieve security, stability and development,” Rady added.
The Iraqi foreign minister also valued the Egyptian role in support of Iraq, which represents a strategic depth for his country at the Arab, African and global levels, especially with regard to confronting common challenges, most notably combating terrorism and achieving security, stability and development.
On his side, President Sisi asked the Iraqi guest to convey his greetings to his two brothers, Mr. Barham Salih, the Iraqi President, Prime Minister Al-Kadhimi, expressing Egypt's mutual keenness to push the frameworks of cooperation with brotherly Iraq towards new and perse horizons on the bilateral and tripartite level with Jordan.
Sisi affirmed the constants of the Egyptian policy towards Iraq, which revolves around supporting Iraq and strengthening its Arab national role.
He also asserted that Egypt supports everything that would achieve Iraq's interests at various levels and help it overcome all challenges, combat terrorism, and maintain its security and stability.
