Following a meeting with Libya's Presidency Council Chairman Mohamed Al Menfi on Thursday, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed that Egypt is keen to boost coordination and ties with Tripoli.
"Today, I had the honor to receive Mr. Mohamed Al-Menfi, Chairman of the Libyan Presidency Council, within the framework of Egypt's keenness to strengthen close coordination with the Libyan Presidency Council in various political, economic and development fields," Sisi tweeted.
“Sisi stressed Egypt’s full and absolute support for the new executive authority in Libya in all fields and all bilateral, regional and international forums for its success in managing the current historical stage and the holding of national elections at the end of this year,” said Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
The Egyptian president, also, affirmed the continuation of Cairo's position aimed at achieving the supreme interest of the Libyan state in the first place to preserve the integrity of the Libyan territories, restore security and stability, build a unified national army, stop foreign interventions, and exit all mercenaries and foreign fighters from Libya.
Sisi asserted that “Egypt is ready to provide its expertise to the Libyan government in various fields, to restore the national institutions of the Libyan state.”
