President Abdel Fattah El Sisi discussed developments of the Libyan crisis and the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam issue with his South Africa's Counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

"President Sisi received this evening a phone call from President Cyril Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa," said Rady.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the contact dealt with following up the developments of the Renaissance Dam file in the context of what was discussed during the recent African mini-summit, and views were exchanged regarding the latest developments in the Libyan issue.

"The president reiterated the Egyptian principles regarding the Renaissance Dam, especially with regard to the elaboration of a fully-fledged legal agreement between the parties concerned regarding the rules for filling and operating the dam," he added.

Hence, Sisi stressed the rejection of any unilateral action that would prejudice the rights of Egypt in the waters of the Nile.

On his side, President Ramaphosa expressed the aspiration for the continuation of intensive coordination between the two countries on the issue of the Renaissance Dam to reach a fair and balanced agreement by all parties on this vital file.

The latest developments regarding the Libyan file were reviewed, as the two presidents exchanged visions on how to activate the political settlement negotiations within the framework of the Berlin Conference and the Cairo Declaration Initiative in an effort to undermine the dangers of terrorism, armed militias and external interference that threatens regional security and stability, according to Rady's statements late Saturday.
