President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed the government on Thursday that appropriate cash incentives be provided to owners of old vehicles, who wish to replace them with new ones running on natural gas, presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said.

This came during Sisi's meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Central Bank Governor Tarek Amer, Petroleum Minister Tarek El-Molla, Finance Minister Muhammad Maait, Minister of Trade Nevin Gamea, Presidential Adviser for Financial Affairs Mohamed Amin, and the presidential spokesman. Radi said.

The directives aim to rationalize gasoline consumption, as well as facilitate procedures and boosting savings for consumers.

Sisi also directed the establishment of a comprehensive exhibition to support the national program for the use of natural gas vehicles, as well as providing services and incentives to consumers, who wish to convert their cars from gasoline to natural gas-powered ones.

He urged more awareness-raising programs on the benefits of using natural gas vehicles instead of petrol engines.
