President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi made a phone call to Ahmed El-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, to check on his health following the recent illness he suffered in recent weeks.
During the call, El-Sisi wished the Grand Imam a full and speedy recovery, expressing his hopes for his continued good health and well-being.
El-Tayeb expressed deep appreciation for the president’s gesture and personal concern, saying the call reflects the leadership’s respect for Egypt’s national religious institutions and their symbols.
He also praised the continued support provided to Al-Azhar and its scholars in promoting the values of moderation and balanced religious discourse. The Grand Imam concluded by praying for Egypt’s stability and prosperity and for the country’s leadership to succeed in serving the nation and strengthening regional peace.
