Shazam Tops Box Office for Second Week in Row

Shazam topped box offices for the second week in a row, beating out a pack of newcomers.

Shazam is a 2019 American superhero movie. The movie is a development of the famous comic series “The Adventures of Captain Marvel,” which first premiered in 1914.

The movie was produced by the New line cinema and distributed by Warner Bros; David f. Sandberg is the director of the film.

The movie stars Asher Angel as Billy Baston, who can, by shouting out one-word "Shazam,” transform into the adult superhero Shazam, played by Zachary Levi.

Throughout the movie, Baston makes use of his superpowers to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana. Shazam is the best superhero movie Warner Bros has made in years.

Following its premiere, the movie sits on the top spot in the box office, earning around six million dollars globally.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, an American review-aggregation website, its critic score sits at a stunning 91 percent and its audience score is similarly high, at 88 percent.

For this weekend, the movie "lIttle" came in the second spot with $15.5 million, while the new "Hellboy" movie took third place for the weekend with only $12 million. The Horror movie “Pet Sematary” took fourth place with $10 million, while the fifth spot went to "Dumbo" film with $9.4 million.
