The real estate sector topped the ranking of the sectors traded on the EGX in terms of trading volume during the week’s transactions, with a market cap of EGP 1 billion and a turnover of 577.8 million shares.
Bank Financial Services
The non-banking financial services sector came in the second spot with a turnover of 477.6 million shares, valued at EGP 464.9 million. While the banking sector came in third with a trading value of EGP 411.3 million and a turnover of 12.2 million shares.
Food, Beverage & Tobacco
In the fourth place, the food, beverage and tobacco sector came with a circulation of 47.3 million executed transactions worth EGP 303.6 million.
Textiles and Durable Goods
The textiles and durable goods sector came in fifth place, with a circulation of 134.4 million shares, valued at EGP 257.2 million.
Health Care (HEL)
The Health Care & Pharmaceuticals came in the sixth spot with a turnover of 110.1 million securities, valued at EGP 242.9 million.
Contracting & Construction Engineering
The seventh place was reserved for the contracting and engineering construction sector with a turnover of 142.2 million, valued at EGP 160.5 million.
IT, Media & Communications Services
The communications, media and information technology sector came in seventh place with a turnover of 13.6 million million shares worth EGP 151.6 million.
Basic Resources
In eighth place came the tourism and entertainment sector with a circulation of 71.8 million shares, valued at EGP 131.2 million.
The basic resources sector saw a circulation of 23 million shares worth EGP 111.9 million.
Transport and Freight Services
Transport and freight services sectors were ranked in the last two places, respectively. The first had a turnover volume of 9.7 million shares worth EGP 14.4 million, while the latter witnessed a circulation of 3.8 million shares worth EGP 11.3 million.
