The security forces of the Interior Ministry announced Tuesday that 16 Muslim Brotherhood (MB) terrorists had been arrested over plots to smuggle foreign currency and wanted MB elements to some European countries.
"The suspects are accused of funding MB elements inside Egypt to carry out a series of terror attacks," the ministry said in a statement.
The security forces' arrest comes within a framework of the ministry's efforts to foil any MB attempt to destabilize Egypt and target its security.

The National Security Agency monitored a scheme by the MB leaders in Turkey which aims to conduct a series of terror attacks against Egyptian facilities, the Armed Forces, and Police to spread chaos.
The MB scheme is based on setting up three secret networks designed to smuggle foreign currency and wanted MB elements to European countries through Turkey and funding other elements inside to carry out terror attacks.

All the required legal procedures have been taken against the detained and the prosecution launched a probe into the case.
